so....i feel vulnerable, out there, naked...why do you ask??? because yesterday I got my PICC line out! It's sort of scary walking around without it...it was sort of like a security blanket, in case I need it again soon...which is probably why I hold on to them normally for so long. (seven months last time!) but it's totally worth it this time getting it pulled after 8 weeks! Now I can start lifting arm weights, and showering without a huge arm band wrapped around my sleeve, and BOOKING MY TRIPS!
YES. clinic went amazing yesterday, my lung function increased to 24%, 0.83 liters! Everything just went splendidly well, so we pulled the picc line, AND if you can even believe it for the FIRST time in three? four? years...on the next appointment sheet...they wrote....3 months!!!! (i have to make it to three months, which with my track record I might not?) but at least on the sheet of paper I got the go ahead for three months. I am now officially back in the club! Let's hope I can keep my membership!
I feel like this time I just might make it 3 months without having to go back, only because, this time doing IV's was soo different, I only had to do 6 weeks, My lung function has been stable if not improving for the last 5 weeks....the only thing I can think of that I am doing differently, exercising. So here's to exercising, here's to getting that 3 month appointment for the first time in 3 years, here's to getting my picc line pulled and not having it left in for months, here's to my trip to visit my cousin in Washington over Easter! Here's to my barbados trip, which is totally in sight I can taste the rum punches! here's to life. cheers!

abandonment
what so I get off IV's...I get my freedom back, I get my energy back...I start back at my business full swing, start organizing a fashion show, start eating sushi (yes it's true...before last week, I had never had sushi, now perhaps it is my favourite things EVER), I start going out every night, staying out till two, planning vacations...and what??? I abandon my blog???...yes yes this is pretty much the case as is. Well I abandoned this blog...if i'm not updating this blog, you can check me out at http://hattitude-hattitude.blogspot.com. My fashion blog, for my You've Got Hattitude Jewellery.
Tomorrow is clinic day. Have not been down in three weeks. Feeling really great! Hope the numbers will be reflective of that. Planning a trip over easter to visit my cousin. Super excited. Will be the first time flying by myself with oxygen though (only the second time flying with oxygen. I used it back in november, when we realized that I dipped low cause of the cabin pressure, even my mom went down to 91%!!)...little nervous about that. Hopefully the doctors will give me the a-ok tomorrow to travel. Fingers and Toes crossed that everything goes splendid tomorrow. Oh ALSO HUGE news, i no longer have to wait until may to see the endocrinologist doctor, diabetes, hormones doc. I'll get this thyroid situation and diabetes stuff sorted out...TOMORROW. they had a cancellation, and I was able to get my name in. WOo. thank gosh. I'm sick of these symptoms! Looking forward to hopefully some answers tomorrow, a stable day, and great numbers! Also seeing the jersey boys tomorrow evening....good day? good week...good life eh? I think so. Blog ya later! ha

dance dance dance

Today is the day. I finished 6 weeks of IV antibiotics this morning!
Spring is finally here, the sun is shining brilliantly every day, the snow is melting away, there is a tiny stream trickling down the drive way, the mud and debris clings to my boots, my wool winter coat hangs, while I grab my spring blazer. Signs of Spring. New life is being breathed into the earth again, new life, new beginnings. Winter is thawing, Spring is blooming.
What a great day to be ending IV meds, and beginning a new Spring chapter. I had my 8 month anniversary of working out last week. Still going strong, on that treadmill, kickin' it's butt, sweat drenching, dripping through my shirt and headband, only makes me work that much harder. pushing these lungs, breathing deep and hard. I feel the whooshing as my lungs expand, feel my heart gaining strength, feel my muscles inside my chest expanding, working, growing, getting more powerful. Over the last 8 months, when I'm 'healthy' I've been rock solid at 0.82, 23%.What has changed? Before I used to bounce all over the place with my lung function, never staying in one spot. Exercise. I just feel better over all.
Life is going good. My jewellery was in a fashion show saturday night that was a huge success. It was so exciting. It was a sneak peak at my new collection being launched in March called "Gorgeous Gal".
The fashion show was a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Children foundation. It inspired me and I think I would like to plan a CF fashion fundraiser for september. It would be really fun and a new challenge.
I also brought the Oscars to Canada this year. Here are a few photos from the night.I made up a red carpet photo booth, set my camera to model mode and me and the girls went to town. There were over 200 photos taken...model mode snaps 10 photos in a row on timer. ha Here are some of my red carpet photos, as well as some group shots from the night. It was a blast. haha
I'm feeling really good these days. I am hoping to get to Barbados at the end of the end of the month. I finally have an endocrinologist appt. for May...soo far away but at least we will get the thyroid, diabetes and other wacky things sorted out.
So today is a day for springing into gorgeousness. Go out and feel the sunshine on your face. Today.... is a beautiful day. Dance Dance Dance.

To Strive to Seek to Find, and not to yield
"When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all a long... What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfill? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?" - From the movie One Week with Joshua Jackson.
What would you do? What would I do?
What would you do? What would I do?

one more weeeeek and then I'm home FREEEEE! only one more week of IV antibiotics. Stable for the last three weeks at 0.82 liters, 23%. Starting chest percussion today.
Working out is going great. I am just sooooooo excited. FREEDOM baby...one more week! And then dare I say it...Barbados....checking flights as I type. Things are finally lookin' up kids. Guelph open mic night tomorrow, plus seeing "An Education" in time for the Oscars since it's nominated for best film. I am having an oscar party. Dressing up in Old Hollywood themed. I already have a ball gown and my red lipstick! I'm having a red carpet photo booth, with lots of games and black and gold decorations for the night! So much fun.
6 days and counting my friends till no more rushing home at 3, and 10 o'clock for meds, no more waking up early in the morning for meds, no more feeling cold or sleepy because i have not warmed up the IV bag long enough from the fridge....let the countdown begin!
